Crossing county or state lines often goes unnoticed when driving, but for many people, especially older adults and people with disabilities who cannot drive, that line represents a barrier to much-needed services. Being able to access medical care, shopping, work and social connections is vitally important to people as part of their daily lives, but those who rely on public transportation services sometimes encounter obstacles based on the geographic area served. Join us at 2pm EST on Thursday, March 2, for a webinar featuring Kendra McGeady, Director of Pelivan Transit in Oklahoma. Kendra will describe the work of Grand Gateway Economic Development Association to address program, tribal and geographic boundaries and coordinate different funding streams in order to ensure that older adults and people with disabilities have access to the services they need to live independently in the community. Additional speakers will be announced.
