Please join us this fall to learn about the challenges of COVID-19 on human services transportation providers in our newest online course!
Course Goal: The goal of this course is to highlight how a variety of human services transportation programs are managing services in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic and preparing for the future, including safety and sanitation methods, managing ride demands and scheduling, sustaining funding, and more. Participants will gain strategies to evaluate and improve their own system services in the context of COVID-19.
Who should participate: Public, private, and non-profit transportation and human services providers, city/county employees, and anyone interested in learning strategies related to COVID-19 transportation operations.
What will the course include: This course will include four modules. Each module contains a video presentation on the selected topic and we will provide links to outside resources and documents for reference. The topics addressed in the course are as follows:
1. Adapting Resources
2. Moving Services Forward
3. Prioritizing Equity
4. Enhancing Health through Transportation
Discussion Forums: Each module will have a linked discussion forum. This course is structured in such a way that your engagement is a key part of learning! We want you to draw on the content provided to help start a conversation, share resources, and provide support. These forums will be a place for discussion with other registered participants and you will be provided with discussion questions for each module that will help prompt conversation.
Completion Certificate: Participants will be offered a completion certificate for the course if you meet the requirement of making at least two posts in the module discussion forums throughout the four weeks.
Registration deadline is Friday, October 1. This course is self-paced and while we will follow a weekly schedule when releasing content, you are free to move through the information on your own. The course will begin Monday, October 18.
