National Association of Area Agencies on Aging 46th Annual Conference and Tradeshow – Virtual

Transportation Sessions at the 2021 n4a Annual Conference

The 2021 n4a Virtual Conference will feature five workshops focused on transportation. Get ready to learn about transportation best practices for your community that address the needs of older adults, people with disabilities and caregivers. The 9th Annual NADTC Mobility Fair will offer attendees an opportunity to network and share insights with their peers and this year’s Post-Conference Intensive event on July 22 will feature programs that are increasing the availability and accessibility of transportation options for diverse older adults. Monday, July 19
NADTC’s 9th Annual Mobility Fair

Join us for the National Aging and Disability Transportation Center’s Annual Mobility Fair. This year, we will convene a structured and interactive roundtable conversation offering participants the opportunity to share their experiences and expertise and learn from their peers. This session will focus on creative travel training approaches, innovative transit-based work and COVID response, PACE and MCO transportation services, and other related topics addressing the transportation needs of older adults and people with disabilities.

National Aging and Disability Transportation Center’s 2020 Grantee Showcase, Part I and Part II
Part I – 12:45 PM – 1:45 PM and Part II – 3:45 PM – 4:45 PM

This session will showcase the work of the 2020 NADTC Innovations in Accessible Mobility Grantees. The grantees worked in their communities to increase accessible transportation options for older adults and people with disabilities by removing barriers and expanding mobility options. The goal of each session is to help attendees understand how they might adapt these approaches in their own programs. Part I and Part II sessions will include presentations by a selection of 2020 grantees detailing their accomplishments and lessons learned and opportunities for open discussion.

Making Transportation Funding Work for You

Securing funding is an integral part in providing transportation services but identifying and navigating funding options can be a challenge for communities and providers that want to improve transportation for older adults and people with disabilities. This session will give an overview of funding options and feature two AAAs that will highlight the different ways their agencies have used funding to expand and improve transportation access for older adults and people with disabilities.

Post-Conference Intensive: Meeting the Transportation Needs of Diverse Older Adults and People with Disabilities (This event is open to the public and will be available free-of-charge to all who register

Our keynote speaker is transportation planning consultant, civil rights lawyer and nationally recognized activist, Tamika Butler, who will shed light on critical issues related to inequality, inequity and social justice in transportation. Tamika will be followed by a panel discussion among three transit programs working to improve transportation for diverse older adults and people with disabilities. Our closing speaker, Tauhric Brown, President and CEO of CICOA Aging and In-Home Solutions in Indianapolis, will discuss the role of aging and disability programs in addressing transportation inequities.
