In 2017, the National Aging and Disability Transportation Center (NADTC) selected six grantees for the Innovations in Accessible Mobility Grant Program where, over the course of twelve months, each project developed and implemented an innovation to increase accessible transportation options for older adults and people with disabilities living in the community. This webinar will feature two of the six grantees, Berkshire Regional Planning Commission (BRPC) in Pittsfield, MA and Senior Transportation Connection (STC) in North Olmstead, OH. These grantees will discuss their experiences in the year-long grant program as well as the availability of a range of safe and accessible mobility options supports community living for older adults and people with disabilities.
Attendees will understand how improved communication between transportation providers and community agencies is supportive of older adults’ independence and will learn about practical tools and creative interventions that will lead to increased knowledge of available transportation and have the potential to be adapted in other communities.
