NADTC Office Hours are focused on enhancing training and technical assistance opportunities and offers an opportunity to interact with your peers, subject matter experts and NADTC Staff. Our next Office Hours call, which will focus on ways to better serve customers with dementia, will be held on October 28 from 2:00-3:00 pm ET.

Participants will hear from dementia care educator, skills-building coach and community speaker, Heather Comstock, MSc in Dementia Studies, who supports families, professionals, and persons living with dementia as a member of the HUB on Smith (senior center) in Wyoming. Heather will present about accommodating people with dementia through the mindful use of “cognitive communicative ramps”. You will learn how understanding autonomy, decision-making and choice can provide the keys to successful interactions with individuals with dementia in your transportation program. You will also have a chance to share your experience and ask questions of Heather and your peers on the call.
