Providing Welcoming Transportation to the LGBTQ+ Community

Created in partnership with the Center for Excellence: LGBTQ+ Behavioral Health Equity, NADTC has produced a Tip Sheet for organizations to provide welcoming transportation services to all riders. As a transportation provider within our communities, it is important to understand how to provide a welcoming environment for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, or Questioning (LGBTQ+) people, and making them feel supported in community spaces, like the use of transportation. When people feel safe while traveling with us, it is much more likely that they will use these services to access important community resources or appointments.

Additionally, we compiled this shortened recording of excerpts from the NADTC Office Hours session in May 2023 that highlight the important elements of inclusive transportation for those that identify as LGBTQ+.  We felt this information was so important and wanted to share it again in this shortened format for those that missed the initial presentation.
